Eric Walters tells a good story set in the mountain of Kilimanjaro. I learned a lot about the struggles of the mountain climb and more about the role of females in another culture by reading this novel. I related more to the struggle that the secondary character must go through then the protagonists D.J. This would be a great read aloud for Grade 6 teachers as there is action but it is not too YA for the classes.
